35022 – 23.11.2022 – practice makes perfect!

Yesterday, we got lots of practice with tacking and jibing manoeuvres. The first jibing manoeuvre was done with the idle watch. This manoeuvre was successful, with the stern of the ship turning through the wind beautifully.

Later, we attempted our first ever tacking manoeuvre. This was less successful, but practice makes perfect! Then we seized the opportunity to practice another jibe, which went smoothly.

On the horizon yesterday we caught our glimpses of Tenerife. Seeing the Canary Islands for the first time, the students were excited to see their parents again in a few short days.
