Class Afloat _ Entering the English Channel

April 1st 2026
Students pranked the teachers by not showing up to Colours
Therefore, there is no log today.

I’ve found writing this daily update to be extremely difficult. Coming to the end of a twelve-day sail, it’s very hard to find ways to show how today was different from any other day. The wind is still cold, and the ship is even more tired. The students remembered that tomorrow is April fools, so most mealtime conversations have been put towards plotting against the teachers and DSST crew. I guess we’ll see how it all turns out tomorrow. After checking the maps in the chart house, I realized we had officially entered the English Channel for the second time, the final stretch of a 6-month-long journey.

Now it’s time to start preparing for the second land portion of the year. There is a lot to be excited about. Supposedly, we will be hearing all of the details regarding the stretch from Bremerhaven to Seville. Now is also the time for the students to take every moment we can manage and embrace what we have just done.
