Yesterday was a great day for our floatie and staff family. Docked in Funchal Madeira, our full crew awoke on the boat after a very special opportunity to spend the previous night with visiting family. We started the day with a very full colours to introduce the new crew, friends and our promising new captain who told us a bit about himself and the plan for the day. Finally at 9:30, post chores, the festivities began as parents began boarding the boat for their long awaited tour. All Floaties hands on deck climbed, released, set and re-tied some sails to show our parents the magic of sailing on the Alex, followed by tours of the ship. After the activities were complete we had the day to explore Madeira on shore leave with friends and family before the crew all returned for 11:00 curfew.
