Happy International Women’s Day! This day serves as an important reminder to continue the fight for gender equality and to reflect on how we can better address the disparities within our society. Out here in the middle of the Atlantic sailing toward the Azores, the ocean is a great teacher that reminds us how we are all equal when we are in nature. Onboard, we look after each other, share experiences, and divide all duties equally. By supporting one another regardless of gender, we take an active role in stopping misogyny and creating a more balanced community.
Class Afloat is truly a microcosmos of a society rooted in equality and human rights, helping to shape the next generation of leaders. We want to send a huge shoutout to all the women of Class Afloat, including faculty members Orla, Jacquie, Emma, and Sydney, as well as our shoreside team Jen, Mimi, Megan, Kate, and Jackie.
