Welcome to day 5 of the Atlantic crossing! The swells are still as high but our sea legs have kicked in. The sunrise this morning was gorgeously shining through the pink fluffy clouds.The ritual colours of daily announcements happened where we added to our boat remix of the “12 days of Christmas” song, and as it is the fifth day we now have the beginning:

“ On the fifth day of Christmas the Alex gave to me….

5 hours on helm

4 to a group

3 coiled ropes

2 haul and vecks

And green sails sponsored by Becks!”

After colours we had chores and then classes started as usual at 8:45am.

Lunch was some warm chili even though it is warm enough and super sunny on the Atlantic especially today the humidity made it feel like 28 degrees!

A party formed in the dish pit after lunch, but with all the rocking it takes some banger “sing along” hits to keep dishes from breaking as the boat tips side to side!

As the sails simply stay up and watches tend to have less to do, students have decided to take this time to ace their sailing skills in order to win watch olympics on the 25th!

Supper was a choice of pork chop, chicken schnitzel or sausage with a side of salad and mashed potatoes. The best part being the ice cream for desert of course!

After supper shenanigans started up again this evening like Dawsons game of charades,  more intense card games and last but not least the boys giving each other buzz cuts in the dungeon bathroom! So beware that your sons may have a funky looking haircut next time you see them as it is probably difficult to trim straight on a moving boat! Anywho, another day of being a floatie! Not a bad life, may I add;)
