WE ENJOYED A NICE EVENING OF SHORE LEAVE YESTERDAY AFTER FINISHING UP CLASSES. MANY EXPLORED HORTA’S PAINTED PIER, FINDING MURALS FROM PREVIOUS CLASS AFLOAT YEARS AND THOSE OF SOME OF OUR FRIENDS FROM TENACIOUS OR THOR HEYERDAL. WE ALSO FOUND COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF PIZZA AND BURGERS AND CHECKED OUT A TRANS-ATLANTIC SAILOR FAVORITE, PETER CAFE SPORT! IN THIS BAR ARE MEMORABILIA OF SAILORS FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD, AND HANGING FROM THE CEILING WE FOUND A BUOY RECOGNIZED BY FACULTY MEMBER BROOKE SAUNDERS! IT WAS FROM HER FIRST VOYAGE AS A WATCH LEAD ON PRINCE WILLIAM OUT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM ALMOST 20 YEARS AGO!
