YESTERDAY WE PRACTICED FOR AN EVACUATION DRILL, DONNING OUR GUMBY SUITS AND JUMPING INTO THE CHOPPY WATERS! WE ALSO SAW SOME SEALS ON THE BEACH AND THEN LEFT HELGOLAND FOR ANCHOR. IT IS HARD TO THINK THAT IT WAS OUR LAST DAY SLEEPING AT SEA. AS WE HEAD BACK TO OUR HOME PORT OF BREMERHAVEN, MEMORIES OF SUNSETS, BIG WAVES, THE PLAGUE, HAULING LINES, AND (MOST IMPORTANTLY) BACKSHAFTE ARE COMING BACK TO US. WE CELEBRATED ALL OF OUR PEAKS AND TROUGHS WITH VIDEOS CREATED BY DJ, LUKE, AND KYLAN. THEN, LOOKED BACK THROUGH THE LETTERS IN OUR LEGACY CHEST. WE HOPE TO LEAVE THE NEXT CREW OF FLOATIES WITH WORDS OF WISDOM AS THEY BOARD THE ALEX-2 NEXT YEAR.
